April Kelly Instructor My name is April and I fell in love with SWERK and myself again at the end of 2018. I’m a busy mom and I work in a profession where I care for a LOT of people and somewhere over the last 7 years, I was caring more about every one else and way less about me. I was struggling both mentally and physically to the point I didn’t know who I was anymore. I was depressed and just going through the motions. I was missing something. So I decided it was time for a change. I needed to get myself back for not only myself but for my daughter (kids are always watching and don’t you forget it). A few friends had told me about SWERK. So I said why not? I tried it, and I LOVED it! I loved the music, the beats they just make you feel alive. You feel your heart race with excitement as you’re moving your body in ways you never thought you could move before with a smile that NEVER leaves your face! I loved my instructors I kept coming back for more and before I knew it I was hooked! Not just because of the work out but because of the new friendships and new experiences that I have been apart of since. I know the reasons that I came to SWERK. I just never thought I’d gain an entire new family out of just trying a dance class. SWERK is so much more. I became a certified SWERK instructor in February 2019 as a gift to myself. When I teach I welcome every body, you are all beautiful and you can be yourselves in my class. I want you to bring your friends, family, significant others. I even want you to invite people that maybe you wouldn’t think would try it. You never know who is just waiting for an invitation to be included or struggling like I was. As an instructor I will always be in your corner, I will push you because I see the potential in YOU. Maybe you don’t see it right now but that’s okay. We are only given one life, one body and it is so very special and I’m here to encourage body positivity to the max. I won’t let you give up on yourself.
